This 1-2-day training provides a context in which participants explore how life experiences and Eurocentric perspectives have shaped American Indian alcohol and drug use. The curriculum is interactive in nature, utilizing slide presentations, discussion groups, interactive activities, story-telling and videos.

This cultural awareness training curriculum was developed by Mid-America ATTC in partnership with the Oklahoma City Area Inter-Tribal Health Board; Rockey Robbins, PhD, primary author. Evergreen Training & Development completed the training of trainers to deliver this training to enhance cultural competency of helping professionals working with American Indian populations.
